Raila Odinga, the presidential candidate of the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance, is the most popular candidate in three counties.
This is according to an opinion poll released Tuesday, May 3 by Trends & Insights for Africa (Tifa).
Raila continues to be the most popular candidate in Nairobi County, with 41% support, 48 percent in Makueni, and 50 percent in Mombasa, according to the poll.
Deputy President William Ruto of Kenya Kwanza is in a close second place with 26% in Nairobi and 32% in Mombasa.
“Whilst Raila Odinga is the most popular presidential candidate in Nairobi, the gap between him and DP Ruto is small enough to suggest that the level of contestation in this county will be high,” Tifa said.
Undecideds make up a sizable portion of the population. Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka, on the other hand, was named, despite the fact that he abandoned his presidential ambitions in favor of Raila.
ODM is the most popular party in Mombasa, with 36% of the vote, followed by UDA with 23%. Undecided people made up 35% of the population polled.
With 41% of the vote, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition is the most popular, followed by Kenya Kwanza with 27% and 32% uncertain.
Kalonzo’s Wiper is the most popular party in Makueni, with 43% of the vote, followed by UDA with 17%, ODM with 10%, with 25% of the population is unsure.
In the same county, Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition is in first place with 62 percent, followed by Keya Kwanza with 13 percent.
