A woman in Nairobi is in trouble with the law after attacking her lover’s wife at her workplace.
Carol Muthoni (26) was arraigned at Milimani Law Courts for assaulting and causing bodily harm to Peris Susan Wangui.
The court was told that Carol had gone to Peris’ place of work to demand to talk to Peris’ husband, her sponsor.
It is alleged that the sponsor had ended things with Carol, but the latter did not take it lightly, and she took it upon herself to look for the man.
To avoid embarrassment before her employees, Peris asked Carol to wait for her husband at the reception, only for her (Carol) to clobber her (Peris) unexpectedly.
A statement given to Principle Magistrate Esther Kimilu reported that Carol wrestled Peris to the ground upon denied permission to see her lover. The statement disclosed that Carol bit Peris’ armpits!
It said, “The complainant was together with her husband and other employees when the accused person started an altercation with the complainant and assaulted the complainant by bitting her armpit.”
Peris’ statement revealed that she knew Carol before the incident as they had met at the ‘crime scene.’
The statement read, “The complainant who is known to me physically since I have met her before at the same office came and told me to leave the office since she wanted to speak to my husband.”
Worse for Carol, her lover did not support her. The man accused her of disturbing and assaulting his wife.
In his statement, he referred to Carol as his former girlfriend. He accused Carol of being arrogant after his wife asked her to wait at the reception.
His statement read, “I knew Catherine as my former girlfriend. She had come to my business premises and she told her to wait at the reception but she arrogantly refused, began pushing my wife.”
However, Carol denied the charges and was released on a cash bail of Ksh 20,000.
Carol’s experience should be a lesson to side-chicks who think they are more valuable than their men’s wives.
