Our king of RnB, Otile Brown, is not happy since today marks the day his beloved mother died back in 2006.
In an emotional message he penned in his Instastories, Otile, whose official name is Jacob Obunga, expressed how he was sad for not telling his mother that he loved her when she was still alive. He went to thank his mother for molding the man he is today.
His message read, “Marehemu mama, thank you for making me the man I am today. Inanikwaza sikukuambia nakupenda kabla kuaga dunia.”
Previously, Otile had expressed his regret about his mother dying early before she enjoyed the fruits of his stardom.
In an interview with Jalang’o last year, he revealed that he had been raised by his extended family members since his parents died when he was young. He disclosed that his parents divorced, and his father, whom he never met, settled in Kisumu while his mother chose to remain in Mombasa, where he lived until he started his career.
Otile has always attributed his good manners to how his mother brought him up. He told Jalang’o that he had a close relationship with his mother, and her death hurt him big time.
Nonetheless, we are sure mama Otile is smiling down at her son, who has been releasing hits after hit. His hit song Dusuma, which he collaborated with Rwandan RnB star Meddy, has hit 20,000,000 million views on YouTube.
Moms are our pillars, and we fully understand Otile’s pain. Losing them leaves a void in our hearts that can never be filled.
We pray for Mama Otile to continue resting in eternal peace and Otile to continue succeeding to make mama proud while in heaven!
