Mother of 3 Shines in KCSE 2024, Scores B plain Grade
Celebrations erupted in Kapsumet village, Kericho County, after Martha Chebet, a mother of three, achieved an impressive B plain in the recently released 2024 Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) results.
Her remarkable performance has inspired many, proving that determination and hard work can overcome even the toughest challenges.
Chebet, who attended Matembe Secondary School in Kisii County, shared her journey of perseverance.
She revealed that she got married in 2008 while still in Form Two, a decision influenced by her family’s circumstances and the empathy of her then-future husband.
“I got married in 2008 when I was in Form Two, and my husband was in Form One because of the sympathy they felt for me,” she disclosed in a report by Citizen TV. While Chebet did not elaborate on the reasons behind this sympathy, her story highlights the hurdles she faced as a young girl navigating life and education.
Despite her early marriage and the responsibilities of raising three children, Chebet did not abandon her dream of education. Her commitment to learning and her family’s support allowed her to balance her roles as a mother and a student.
Now, with a stellar KCSE performance, Chebet is setting her sights on higher education. She expressed her desire to pursue a degree in education, focusing on biology and agriculture.
“I want to pursue a bachelor’s degree in education, specializing in biology and agriculture,” she stated, beaming with pride and hope for the future.
Chebet’s achievement has not only brought joy to her family and village but also serves as a powerful reminder that it is never too late to chase one’s dreams. Her story is a testament to resilience, determination, and the power of education to transform lives.
