A video has surfaced of former Citizen TV presenter Kimani Mbugua at a rehabilitation facility, where he is seen performing Sauti Sol’s song Feel My Love to entertain others.
The video was shared on his new TikTok account, and Mbugua encouraged fans to follow him for more content.
Earlier this year, Mbugua raised concerns among Kenyans with a series of troubling social media posts.
Several individuals, including comedian and media personality Oga Obinna, stepped in to offer support.
Former Nairobi governor Mike Sonko also intervened, promising to cover Mbugua’s medical bills and arrange for his transfer to the Mombasa Women’s Hospital rehabilitation center.
Sonko shared on his X account, “In consultation with Kimani Mbugua’s parents, I will pay his bill at Mathare Hospital and transfer him to the Mombasa Women’s Hospital rehab center.”

Kimani Mbugua’s father speaks
Mbugua’s father provided an update in May, stating, “At the moment, he is still out of balance. I thank God because we, as Christians, pray and ask God to do what we cannot do. Kimani is not yet well.” Mbugua is currently receiving treatment at the Mombasa Mental Rescue Center.
Kimani Mbugua has been battling mental health challenges, often prompting concern when he appears online. His father revealed in an interview that Mbugua’s struggles began after an incident where his drink was allegedly spiked at a party.
His daughter discovered disturbing images of the incident, which reportedly took place the day after Mbugua’s birthday in February.
Following the incident, Mbugua’s health deteriorated, and despite an initial recovery, his father believes he was spiked again six months later, leading to further issues.
The father mentioned that although toxicology tests were conducted, the phone that contained footage of the incident was lost, complicating efforts to trace what exactly happened.
The father also expressed concerns about the influence of Mbugua’s friends, believing that their involvement with drugs may have played a role in his son’s behavior.
Despite the challenges, Mbugua’s family remains hopeful for his recovery, with medical professionals advising him to quit smoking.
