Celebrated singer Sanaipei Tande has opened up about life after losing her radio gig back at Nation FM.
Sanaipei on moving back home
The beautiful musician disclosed that she worked for the station between 2-13 and 2015, and at one point, she took a week off work, and when she resumed work on August 31, 2015, she realised most people were anxious at work.
Sanaipei was being featured on the Singleton Series with Bikozulu on NTV, and she said:
“I was like what’s happening? Of course, we had heard rumours that we are going to be fired but you wait until you are told. My show used to be between 10am to 2pm and I got a message from the GM that he wanted to see me.”
When the Mfalme Wa Mapenzi hitmaker arrived at the board room, she found the GM, the chief accountant, and the HR manager, and they thanked her for her services, handed her a check, and told her not to report that office again.
“I started hosting Karaoke again. At the time, I was living in an apartment that was KSh 55k. The only karaokes I could get then were paying between KSh 10k and KSh 12k,” she added.
Sanaipea said those were the scariest times as she would work between 8 pm and midnight, and she would ask herself how she would get back to her car safely.
She also faced a lot of challenges with clients who would demand to sing. Sometimes, the boss would not leave the cash or leave half of it or fail to pay in time.
“That was the most trying time because that money was not just going to me, some of it was going to help at home. So in 2016 November, I realised I had to move back home.”
Sanaa celebrates her 36th birthday
The popular singer recently celebrated her 36th birthday and she urged people to embrace ageing as growing old is a gift.
She shared a lovely photo of her glowing face while noting there was nothing wrong with growing old.
The beauty said she was grateful for her 36 years, prayed for more life filled with blessings, and thanked those who wished her a happy birthday.
