23-year-old woman arrested after her ‘mubaba’ died in her house during ‘sekete’

A 23-year-old woman in Kajiado county has been arrested after her 59-year-old lover died under mysterious circumstances.

According to a police report at Kitengela Police Station, the woman, named as Beth Wanjiku, stated that her lover, Joshua Stephen Muirui, paid her a visit at her rented residence on Balozi Road on Wednesday, October 18.

The suspect informed authorities that she made him lunch before they went to bed to make love, but the male passed out during the process.

“She prepared meat stew and ugali which they took for lunch. After eating, he requested that they proceed to the bedroom. At around 4pm as they were making love, he fell unconscious,” police report seen by TUKO.co.ke reads.

She placed him beside her before calling one of his friends to help her take the boyfriend to the hospital.

“She placed him beside her, but unfortunately, the deceased went for a long call on the bed. This made the report call the deceased friend namely John Kinywa phone number 072xxxxx to come and assist her in taking him to the hospital,” the report added.

The police report shows the man was pronounced dead on arrival at the Pona Hospital, where he had been rushed for treatment.

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations officers based at Kitengala rushed to the scene but did not find any exhibits.

“Kitengela Police Station, his team and the DCI officers rushed to the scene but did not find any exhibits. The reportee was placed in custody for further interrogation. The scene has been processed and documented,” police said.

The body is preserved at Kitengela Sub County Hospital Mortuary, awaiting a postmortem.
