Phil Karanja takes back the KSh 3.5m BMW he gifted Kate Actress after break-up

Kate Actress and Phil Karanja have been the topic of the town since announcing their split.

On Tuesday, September 19, Kate and Phil issued a joint statement on social media revealing their split.

According to the couple, they divorced a while ago but did not make the news public.

“We came to a conclusion to end our marriage a long while ago and are separated. We sincerely request everyone to honour our wishes for privacy for us and our children,” read the statement.

Kate shared another message reading:

“It was never a secret. We just kept it private. To all our dear fans, thank you for the support over the years.”

Phil noted that their separation was amicable and that they would continue working together.

“This is between two people, but allow us to add you to the group so we can proceed with our lives without many issues.

Kate and I remain friends, co-parents and business partners.”

A day before announcing the separation, Phil shared an image with a vehicle he previously gifted Kate for her birthday.

The image depicted Phil wearing a yellow t-shirt and blue jeans beside the dark BMW X3 worth around KSh 3.5 million.

The renowned director gifted Kate the vehicle in January 2020, a month after welcoming their child.

The actress gave birth to their child in December 2019.

“Every push has been rewarded. God says try me! Do your part! Mama K 2020, let’s ride,” she wrote.

The couple was okay in November 2022, when celebrating their 5th wedding anniversary.

“What a ride it has been. Thank you for being an incredible support system over the years. Thank you for allowing me and encouraging me to become the best version of myself. Thank you for cheering me on.
