Diana Marua: I make more money than Bahati but I still submit to him

Content creator and artiste Diana Marua says while she sometimes out-earns her husband singer Bahati, she remains submissive since she owes her success to him.

Speaking on her YouTube channel, the mother of three said at times their income gap widens but she recognizes Bahati as the head of their household.

“…right now I can say I am making slightly more than him. It fluctuates, yes, but there is a time when his music is doing well and he has shows here and there and makes a decent amount.

“When things are not okay on his side and I am making more, I still humble before my husband regardless of the amount of money in our respective bank accounts,” Diana Marua noted.

The ‘Hatutaacahana’ hit singer recalled their humble beginning with the singer saying at some point in their relationship, she was forced to forfeit her lavish lifestyle since Bahati could not afford it.

“One day akaniambia, now I cannot facilitate the lifestyle that you had before and if it is going to be difficult moving forward, hii haiwezi work.

He was so point-blank. Nilikata kucha, nikatoa polish, nilikaa natural, and I think that was the test of time. I told God you just go ahead and test me! Test me with him so you can know I am patient and serious,” Diana Marua recalled.

The Youtuber revealed that Bahati had lost his financial stability for 2 two years but she could not break up with him since she had already been introduced to the public as his prayer partner.

“For 2 years I lacked but now I was in the public eye and I had been labelled a prayer partner I was wondering how will I go back to kina nani… how will I start asking people for money. Begging maybe 2k or 5k here and there. So I braved it all and stayed,” the content creator narrated.

My fame has cost my wife — Bahati

Later, the family finances stabilized and Diana’s online content creation was birthed. She praised Bahati for pushing and empowering her saying sometimes she becomes the breadwinner wife.

“Bahati has believed in me even when I did not believe in myself. He literally treated me like a baby-born bird so delicately then he taught me how to fly and even when I couldn’t he’d throw me into the air and let me find my way until I learned the science of making it. He is my everything. My beginning and my end. Where I am right now I owe my success to God because He used Bahati or rather owe it to Bahati because God used him,” Diana Marua passionately stated.

Adding;

“I have never had my money. Any business that Diana has done and I get my money… ni babe, what do we do with this money? Sometimes I tell him how much I have in my account, and I’m like what do we do with it? It has never been this is my money because I walked for it.”
