Details of Comedian YY’s girlfriend’s rare illness that has kept them in and out of hospital

The previous three weeks have seen Marya Okoth and Oliver Otieno, a former Churchill Show comic now going by the stage name YY, in and out of the hospital.

Marya experienced this after a rare disease caused her leg to become numb.

Marya, who is married to the comedian and has a kid named Circe Gaona, recently admitted that she has been struggling to get around.

“I woke up one day and realized I couldn’t move my leg totally and this is because I have blood clots in my left leg. My man has been so supportive in taking care of me in the hospital. I hope to walk again soon,” she wrote.

She added that her left leg had become insensitive due to a blood clot she had experienced in the past. She is therefore unable to walk as she once could.

Marya also expressed her hope to soon be able to walk once more and thanked her fiancé YY for looking after her and helping her get through the difficult moment.

Marya shared an update on her health condition with fans.

Marya wrote, “This is a great turning point in my life, I never thought a day would come when I’d be unable to walk totally.”

Adding, “This life is full of surprises, you can just wake up and everything changes without caution. However, I know this is going to be a testimony. I’ll never take any life privilege for granted.”

She also shared a video of YY massaging her feet, and it was impossible for social media fans to help but applaud his good deed.

In the social media post, YY lavished admiration on Marya, an interior designer, calling her a selfless person for giving birth to their child safely.

“The mother to the daughter of a King? Stronger than a moissanite. I would have played you a song but you holding my guitar in your hand. I can’t tell you enough how much I honor your selflessness.“Thank you for pushing. I want you to choose a destination you would love to visit na isikuwe nje ya Nairobi please ni January @officialmarya_1,” YY wrote.
