Willis Raburu officially quits TV 47 months after joining

Willis Raburu, a renowned media personality, has formally quit Cape Media, the parent company of TV and Radio 47.

After a tenure of 8 months with the media organization, Raburu has decided to part ways.

This decision comes several months after his appointment as the Director of Digital Services and Innovation.

“As I bid farewell to the TV47 family, I am filled with a sense of pride and gratitude for the remarkable growth we’ve achieved together over the past few months,” part of his farewell message reads.

Just the other day, Willis announced that that his show ‘Wabebe Experience’ was taking a break from Air. He used to host the show alongside Mc Gogo and Claudia Naisabwa.

“We would like to announce that Wabebe Experience will be taking a SEASON BREAK. We sincerely thank our viewers for their continued support and enthusiasm.

Rest assured, we are working diligently behind the scenes to come back BIGGER AND BETTER than ever. Stay tuned for updates on our return! We love you and appreciate you so much.”

Raburu made a significant move by joining TV47 in 2023, much to the delight of his fans. On August 22, he teased his fans about an upcoming exciting project.

It was later revealed that he would be co-hosting a new show called Wabebe XP (experience) on TV47 every Friday at 10 pm, alongside Mc Gogo. Claudia Naisabwa joined them as the third host in February 2024.

Having spent 13 years at Citizen TV since 2010, Raburu decided to part ways with the network in June 2023. He started as an intern and worked his way up to become one of the most respected TV hosts in the country, transitioning from an intern to a News reporter, and eventually hosting the popular 10 over 10 show.

In October, Raburu stepped down as chairman of the Nairobi festival committee, citing the urgent need for systemic change as one of the main reasons for his resignation.

He emphasized that his decision was driven by the necessity for systemic change to enhance service delivery and leadership within the county.

“I have officially informed the leadership of the county that I will no longer be serving in my current capacity as chair of the Nairobi Festival committee,” he said.
