Crazy Kennar: The Funny Man Helping Kenyan Youth Get Jobs, Fight Depression Through Comedy

Kennedy Odhiambo, aka Crazy Kennar, is an actuarial science student at the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology as well as a content developer.

He oversees the Tales of Crazy Kennar program.

He founded The Crazy Kennar Company while still an undergraduate, serving as its CEO.

The topics covered by Kennar’s content are relevant to everyday life, including politics, school, and even relationships.

Additionally, particularly among the younger age, he uses his position to inform and raise awareness of mental health concerns like depression.

KAZI App

He released the smartphone application KAZI in 2021 in an effort to combat juvenile depression by assisting young people in finding employment prospects.

November 19th 2021, the comedian launched Kazi app – an online application that creating employment pooper Ines among the youth by connecting them to various opportunities that are available.

Amongst the celebrities whom have been on the forefront in fighting depression among young people Kennar has top the list,he does this by creating job opportunities.

The application process for the app is free and every non-employed or self-employed individual would be able to generate income through various skills.

Through his Instagram account he was quoted

“When God gives you a plate of food, invite others to eat with you. I have been on a mission to fight depression for close to 3 years now.

This is after I received heart breaking messages from my fans and the people I entertain. What better way than introducing an app called ‘KAZI’ that is able to cut across so many people who have different skills and give each person an opportunity to earn something by using what is in their hands to make revenue.

Our main initiative focuses on the youth because most of them tend to fall into depression as a result of not being able to cater for their needs,” he said.

In addition he explained explain that the application works to connect a person who needs a service and a person who offers it. With the growing web interests, the app is a good platform for freelancers to showcase their skills.

According to him, anyone who is unemployed or self-employed would be able to make money using the app by leveraging their varied skills.

Instant Delicacies

Additionally, he opened his own restaurant, Instant Delicacies, in Juja Square this year.

Speaking to the media during the launch, Kennar revealed that the restaurant has six employees and will be specializing in offering fast foods and Swahili dishes.

The restaurant which is renown for its grilled chicken also does deliveries around Nairobi and clients can place their orders through their various social media platforms.
