“Ukiristo sio machozi, usjifanye deputy Jesus!” – Karua hits out at Ruto

Martha Karua, the vice presidential candidate for Azimio, has criticized Deputy President William Ruto for crying during a prayer session in Karen, Nairobi, on Tuesday.

At a campaign event on Wednesday in Bukhungu Stadium, Karua urged attendees to quit posing as Christians.

“Ukiristo sio machozi. Ukiristo ni tabia (Christianity is not about tears. Christianity is about the character),” she said in remarks aimed at DP Ruto. “You should know, Jesus Christ has no deputy on Earth. Wewe wacha kujifanya deputy wa Jesus Christ (Stop pretending to be Jesus Christ’s deputy).”

Adding:

“Niwaeleze kwa Bible, Yesu alisema sio kila mtu anaitana Yesu, Yesu ataingia kwa ufalme wa mbinguni (Let me explain to you in the Bible, Jesus said it is not everyone who calls Jesus, Jesus will get into the kingdom of heaven)”.

Karua emphasized that being a Christian does not need having a name or going to church regularly.

The leader of NARC Kenya stated that anyone claiming to be a Christian should adhere to what the Bible teaches.

“Penda watu. Wacha kiburi. Wacha vitisho. Kuwa mtu wa kunyenyekea vile kristo alikua ananyenyekea (Love others. Stop arrogance. Stop threats. Be a humble person as Christ was).”
