“Mungu anapenda kukojoa hapa kila siku” – Raila reacts to heavy rainfall in Kisii

Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga on Tuesday took his campaigns to Kisii County.

This is part of his final trip to the county perceived to be his stronghold.

 

During the tour of the county, he was welcomed by heavy rainfall in the region, but this could not stop his loya supporters from attending his rally in Marani.

While addressing the crowd, Raila sympathized with them after being rained on.

“Poleni sana kwa mvua, hii mvua imekua mingi zaidi…unajua mungu anapenda hapa sana, anakojoa hapa kila siku..akikojoa kwa fujo hapa, kule chini kunafurika,” he said amid laughter.

This is the second time, the former Prime minister is making such controversial remarks.

A few months ago, while addressing Azimio rally in Nakuru county, he made a joke on how God blesses us with rains, stating:

“Mungu anakojoa hapa kila siku…saa ingine akikojoa sana maji inaenda mingi sana, watu wa Nyando wanapata mafuriko.”

He added that Nakuru county is an agricultural place and farmers can benefit a lot from the rains.

This sparked lots of reaction’s online with several netizens stating that he was joking alot while others made fun of him.

Others stated that God is too big and should not be joked with as he did.

Others netizens stated that it was a metaphor and shouldn’t be a matter of discussion and politicization.

Rallies

Raila Odinga is set to hold rallies across at least six constituencies in a move aimed at solidifying his vote in the region.

The constituencies include; Bonchari, Kitutu Chache North, Nyaribari Chache, Nyaribari Masaba, Bomachoge and Bobasi.
