Residents of Nasra Estate, Njiru in Nairobi, witnessed a traumatizing event of a man setting himself and his 2-year-old daughter on fire on Sunday.
According to police reports, Denis Musyoka (34) set the car he and his daughter were in, killing himself and severely injuring the little girl.
It is alleged that Musyoka was estranged from his wife, identified as Elizabeth, and had not seen his daughter for a while. He requested his daughter to be brought to his house to bond with her, as recommended to parents who do not live with their children.
His wife obliged his request, but Musyoka had other plans.
The Police claim that Musyoka pounced on Elizabeth in the car immediately after she pulled over. He then pulled out a knife and stabbed Elizabeth multiple times in the neck.
Luckily, Elizabeth managed to escape from the car, leaving her daughter.
It was at this juncture that Musyoka entered the car and set it, with his daughter inside, on fire using petrol.
