Kenyans react as excited police officers scramble for selfies with Yesu wa Tongaren

A picture of police officers and others swarming Yesu wa Tongaren to take photos has sparked a wide range of responses on social media.

People holding their phones in an attempt to capture the controversial prophet’s image were seen surrounding him while he was dressed in a red robe.

Yesu wa Tongaren is seen grinning for the camera in the image posted by Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.

The presence of the man of God transcended both citizens and law enforcement, and it was clear that he was relishing both the attention and this.

Social media users questioned how the cleric still managed to hog such attention given that he has been labeled as a false prophet by many.

Others made light of the notion that the police officers had reserved a place for themselves in Heaven by taking pictures with the self-proclaimed Jesus.

Here are some reactions from Kenyans:

Kijana Mdogo: “Kenya police officers taking selfies with Jesus of Tongaren after arresting him. He has been arraigned in Bungoma high court where the local Herod will pronounce a ruling.”

Edwin Kiprotich: “This officer was so excited to meet the god of Tongaren.”

Kui David: “That is my brother’s son smiling broadly in that photo. This has to get to the family.”

Hon Kimeli: “Is this the same one who told Jesus to remember him when He gets to Heaven?”

Ogolla Ogolla: “And just like that, those two officers have booked a slot in Yesu wa Tongaren’s heaven.”
