Diamond Platnumz encouraged Tanzanian singer-songwriter Zuchu to pursue a career in music, according to official dancer Angel Nyigu.
Angel emphasized to Mungai Eve that everything was routine up until she met the head of WCB Wasafi.
“The biggest artist ambaye nimefanya naye kazi ni Diamond, na so far yeye amekuwa na impact kubwa sana kwenye career yangu. Yeye ndiye alinipush, akaniambia nenda sasa, do your stuff. Alinipost nikifanya freestyle na hivyo ndio nikawa viral.”
She recalled how Platnumz challenged her, posted the video on his timeline, tagged her, and the rest, as they say, is history. For more information on how Platnumz pushed her, read on.
“There is this day tulikuwa tunafanya mazoezi, then akasema tufanye challenge fulani, yeye akashika simu yake akaturecord then akapost kwa page yake akanitag and that’s how nikaanza kupata opportunities zingine.”
The AFRIMA award nominee only collaborated with Willy Paul while in Kenya, but she stated that she is open to working with other Kenyan musicians.
“Ningependa kufanya kazi na mtu yeyote yule ambaye anaweza kunipatia opportunity na tukaelewana. So far nimefanya tu na Willy Paul.”
The choreographer continued by mentioning the interactions she has had with numerous Kenyan dancers.
When asked if she had met Moya David, the king of surprises in Kenya, she described how they had met and practiced dancing the previous year.
