Tanzanian superstar Zuchu is the winner of this year’s Best East African Female Artiste at the Afrimmas.
Zuchu received her award a day after her failed Houston show. Reports indicate that the show received very few people turned up.
In her acceptance speech, Zuchu narrated how she speny the night crying.
“I spent the entire night crying yesterday, because my show in Houston didn’t go as planned but you know what, God told me today that yesterday is not for us to recover but tomorrow is ours to win.
So we can always take failure as a lesson. As an upcoming artiste, I’m just telling you guys that this is not the end, this is the beginning of my journey.”
She went on to take a jab at naysayers.
“All haters are gonna see me doing things in these arenas. As East African artiste we have to work a little bit harder because of the Swahili.
Its been two years and today I’m here representing females in East Africa.”
She gave a shout-out to fellow Tanzanian singers; Nandy, Maua Sama, Rosa Ree and her mother Khadija Kopa.
Zuchu then described her label boss Diamond Platnumz as her hero, revealing how in love she was with him.
“My hero Diamond Platnumz, I love you, you will always be my hero.”
