After nine years of dating her 77-year-old boyfriend Larry, a woman confesses that he treats her like a gold digger and that he gets “spoilt rotten” around her.
Imani, 34, and Larry, 77, have been dating for nearly ten years, but they didn’t establish a formal relationship until a few years into it.
Imani was looking for something more casual when they met on a dating site, and she was drawn to his pictures.
When she first met Larry, her expectations about dating someone much older than herself were altered.
Speaking on popular YouTube channel Love Don’t Judge, Imani, who is an artist, said: “I found older men more attractive in general and felt he was a pretty attractive older gentlemen and then when I met him in person he did not disappoint.”
The couple have a 43 year age gap between them but say they often don’t even notice it; they have similar interests and great communication which they say is the key to their relationship staying strong.
Imani, who often sharers an insight into her relationship on social media, says there is “never as dull moment” with Larry and his bubbly personality leaves her “never bored”.
As well as having plenty to chat about, the couple live a life of luxury and love travelling together – visiting the likes of Dubai and Paris – plus Larry often treats Imani to shopping sprees and days out at a golf course.
“It has to be the most spoiled I’ve ever gotten,” Imani added. “The most magnificent thing he treats me to is shopping trips in Paris. He rarely ever tells me no,” she told Love Don’t Judge.
“She is very, very grateful for everything that is done,” Larry added. She explained that she is not in it for the money nor acts as a house wife, but is quite the opposite. “Our relationship is different, people are uncomfortable with different,” Larry added. “I cannot imagine not having her in my life.”
The happy couple, who recently got engaged in Paris, admit that they do often get stares when they are out and about.
Instead of acknowledging it, the pair tend to brush off the judgement and say it has made them stronger as a couple.
“It’s strengthened our bond,” Larry said.
They say they “never put each other down and are never disrespectful to each other even when we’re upset”.
They admitted that people who known them personally thought their relationship wouldn’t last long, but they now have a lot of supportive people around them.
“When I go out for dinner with you and travel I realise you don’t have an age gap because you communicate so well,” their good friend Carolina said.
“She changed my life,” Larry added. Imani commented: Larry has changed my life for the better in a lot of ways – he has done some much for me emotional, spiritually, financially, and I have grown.”
The pair are aware of their age gap and how that may affect the future. Imani, who has thousands of social media followers, explained:
“It’s only natural to worry about someone’s health as they get older.”
She added: “If it ever came to a time where we went our separate ways, I would date a woman, I am bisexual, no-one could compete with Larry.”
The couple are now looking forward to planning a wedding and Larry’s retirement so they can travel more and spend as much time together as possible.
