Woman pushed from second floor of Kasarani building forgives boyfriend, blames alcohol

Kasarani woman who was pushed off  from the second-floor apartment by boyfriend in Kasarani after a fight with her boyfriend has withdrawn the case, takes blame for the incident.

According to new police reports, Cynthia Mboya said she had since forgiven her lover and his cousin for the incident and did not want to pursue the case further.

“She said she did not wish to proceed with the matter because she had not broken any bone. She only had muscle pains which she claimed she was managing with medications issued in hospital,” a police report quoted by Nairobi News indicated.

Hence, the suspects were freed as a result of her statement.

According to The People Daily, a former CS called the station’s senior police officers and instructed them to “guarantee that the two are assisted.”

The police are still conducting their inquiries despite Mboya’s withdrawal of the case.

Cynthia Mboya, 26, fell to the ground floor of Q Apartment after a scuffle on Sunday night that involved her boyfriend and his friend.

She told police she had shown up at the apartment to visit her boyfriend who was then with a male friend.

In the process, she said, they went to the balcony of the apartment where a scuffle broke out.

She told police the two pushed her off the balcony and she fell on the ground floor injuring herself in the 10 pm incident.

Neighbours who heard the commotion rushed her to the Uhai Neema Hospital where she was admitted in stable condition.

Police later visited the scene and arrested the two men for grilling.

Police suspect the drama is linked a love triangle but are still investigating the saga.

The police say they are investigating a case of attempted murder.

Kasarani has been in the news in the past months with news of people dying by suicide after jumping off highrise structures.

Police are also investigating claims some of the victims who died there were pushed or thrown off the structures.

Among the victims was Brenda Kawira, 29, who died on February 21, 2023, in Nairobi’s Kasarani estate at around 11:30 pm, after jumping 50 feet down.

Police say the only witness in the suicide claim was her boyfriend and who confessed that they had quarrelled on their way to the bedroom.

He told police Kawira, in a fit of rage, stormed out of the bedroom situated on the fourth floor of the rental apartment, went to the balcony and executed the jump of death.

The other cases include Geoffrey Mwathi (February 23) and Joseph Kubende (March 23). Police say all the cases are under probe.
