Why KOT have nicknamed Charlene Ruto ‘Quickmart Ivanka’
On Twitter, the moniker Quickmart Ivanka has been trending for a few days, leaving some internet users perplexed as to how to “decode” it.
According to reports KOT have nicknamed President William Ruto’s daughter Charlene Ruto with the new name.
It is worth noting that the ever-smiling first daughter has been traversing the country and engaging different county government officials while at it.
However, her whirlwind and highly publicised tours raised eyebrows considering that she was not, to a large extent, actively involved in her father’s presidential campaigns.
Some netizens questioned her motive, while others wondered she was making the engagements in which capacity on whose budget.
Notably, similar concerns were raised when former United States president Donald Trump was first elected and his daughter, Ivanka, attended official meetings with him.
Trump would later appoint her to an official government role, the director of the Office of Economic Initiatives and Entrepreneurship.
Just like Ivanka, Charlene is equally involved in her father’s government. This might be the reason why netizens have nicknamed her Ivanka.
For Quickmart, just as she has been travelling across the country, the supermarket has been opening new branches in almost every town.
This is an assumption; the person who gave her the monicker is yet to reveal the reasoning behind the name.
