Kenyans will be able to fly to Homa Bay for Sh7,600 as commercial aviation services return.
Renegade Air will operate a new service from Nairobi to Homa Bay on Monday.
Every Monday, Friday, and Sunday, the Bombardier Dash 8-Q300 will fly from Nairobi’s Wilson Airport to Homa Bay’s Kabunde airfield, and vice versa.
Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga and Transport CS Kipchumba Murkomen are among those in attendance.
“County is ready to take flight! Renegade Air’s new route brings us closer to Nairobi, boosting growth and developing synergies. Let us seize this amazing chance for our county’s prosperity,” Wanga said.
“Very exciting historic day as we celebrate the return of commercial air services to Homa Bay thanks to Renegade Air,” Murkomen added.
Last month, Renegade conducted a flight check at the Kabunde airstrip in preparation for the inaugural flight.
“Fly Renegade Air explored Kabunde airstrip, preparing for our inaugural flight on June 12, 2023,” Renegade said then.
“Exciting times ahead as we open up Homa Bay County to the world, creating opportunities and connecting communities. Stay tuned for updates!”
