George Wajackoyah, the presidential candidate for the Roots party, has urged Kenya to support him and, in the event that they do not, to support Raila Odinga, the candidate for the Azimio party.
First-time presidential candidate criticized lawmakers who enjoy calling Raila names and abusing him, saying such actions are wrong.
“I have roots in the Luo community and we must respect Raila. If you don’t vote for me then you would rather vote for him,” he stated.
Wajackoyah spoke on Monday in Kisumu, where he conducted his campaigns. He was joined by his running companion Justina Wamae.
The lakeside city was taken by surprise as he arrived to the cheers of hundreds of admirers in the CBD. If elected, he promised to address Kenyans’ crippling high cost of living during the campaign.
The leader of the Roots Party claimed that he is the most qualified candidate to assist in reviving the nation’s faltering economy and so bringing down the high cost of living.
From Jua Kali to Kondele and the Manyatta estate, Wajackoyah’s entourage made a number of stops before wrapping up their campaigns at Kondele. He reaffirmed his calls for bhang growing, which he claimed would aid in reviving Kenya’s faltering economy.
“When elected I will legalise marijuana farming as it will increase the country’s revenue and create more jobs for unemployed youth. A 50 Kg of bhang goes for $350 and will fetch a lot of money to repay the Chinese loans,” Wajackoyah said.
He urged Kisumu residents to vote for him in the August 9 general election.
