A video of President-elect William Ruto and Rigathi Gachagua kneeling down, shedding tears the moment the Supreme Court of Kenya upheld his win, has emerged online and moved the hearts of Kenyans.
The Supreme Court’s seven-judge panel affirmed Ruto’s victory as president after concluding that there were insufficient reasons to throw out the election results from August 9 as Raila Odinga had requested.

The president-elect and representatives from his Kenya Kwanza alliance were watching television intently as the court read its decision.
Together with his wife and other Kenya Kwanza leaders, he knelt to pray after the supreme court recognized his triumph.
In the moving video, when Chief Justice Martha Koome confirmed Ruto’s victory, the leaders began to applaud, but the incoming president quickly dropped to his knees, bowed his head, and began praying.
He was joined by other leaders who were going to stand to congratulate him in the tearful prayer.
As they prayed and thanked God for the victory, they sobbed.
