Muturi Michael Warutere, the top student in this year’s KCPE exam, has been selected to enroll at Mang’u High School in Kiambu.
He is one of the 42,927 students selected to attend prestigious national schools around the nation.
The 13-year-old Warutere, who wants to work as a software engineer, was ecstatic to learn that his dream school had accepted him.
‘‘As I go to the festive season, I am happy to have seen a star shining my way. The journey to my destination is three weeks away and I promise to exceed my expectations,” he said.
Warutere, sat for for national exams candidate at Riara Springs Academy in Imara Daima where he scored 428 marks.
According to him, he did not expect to score such high marks and did not believe it until he saw the results.
“I was expecting 410 at the most, but I prepared adequately and did what I could. I thank God for enabling me to get such marks. I want to join Mang’u High School and become a software engineer in the future,” he said.
Rotich Jeremy Kipng’eno of Moi Education Center, who received 424 marks, and Jeremiah Maina of Nairobi’s Bidii Primary School, who received 402 marks, will also join Mang’u.
The other three who will be joining Mang’u are Lungwanyi Wekesa Xavier, Nyongesa Wamono Ezra, and Abdi Dawood Manzur from Bungoma DEB School.
Jecinta Bethany Khasungu, on the other hand, will be attending Kenya High School after earning 427 grades at St Anne’s Girls Primary School in Mumias.
