Singer Tanasha Donna has bagged an international award to honour her work in the music industry as well as her overall achievements and positive influence in society.
The mother of 1 was awarded the “European Women’s International Leadership Award” as part of International Women’s Rights Day, alongside 8 other extraordinary women around the world.
Following the win, the mother of 1 took to Instagram to share how honoured she was to receive the award in a long heartwarming post. She went on to humbly;y dedicate the award to women across the globe who were impacting society in beautiful ways regardless of their field of work.
“ALHAMDULILLAH. I am beyond humbled & honored to be recognized by the European Parliament & represent of the German state of Hesse, & to have won the European International Women’s Leadership Award.
A huge Congratulations to all the amazing women who won as well. A bit sad I couldn’t physically make it, This is big for me.. & This is not just my win, but this is for ALL the female leaders who have a positive influence & impact on today’s society.”
She went on to add;

European Parliament and representatives of the German state of Hesse came together to recognize successful women who have a positive influence on society.
This prize is awarded to women, who at some point in their life, have decided to follow their dream, break with the traditional obligations around them, challenge areas dominated by men, to act in a respectful way to set an example for everyone.
The nominees were invited to receive their awards by the Brussels EU Representation of the German State of Hesse. The following eight women were awarded:

The team behind the award indicated why they selected Tanasha’s writing,
“Born in England, Tanasha Donna grew up in Kenya and spent half of her life in Belgium, she is now based in Nairobi. This life offered her the possibility to communicate fluently in five languages.
She is working as a model, a businesswoman, and an artist who has been nurturing her musical, artistic, and creative skills through her African roots.
Following her breakthrough in 2020, she featured last year as one of the key figures in “Symphony”, a Nollywood musical blockbuster movie with youth and music as its central theme – a story about life, love, dreams, success, trials, societal failure and the resultant effects. That film reflects the travails of a typical talented African youth, struggling to overcome all odds in order to make the breakthrough.
To describe her in a nutshell: she is interested to motivate, touch and inspire others in a positive way through her music by expressing and exploring new ways, grounded in afro-soul, afro-fusion, and Amapiano.
Her 3.9 million followers on Instagram make her the most followed Kenyan musician – across all platforms, she has been streamed more than 65 million times.
