Stivo Simple Boy has opened up about his journey in his career and said he had challenges before he had his breakthrough.
He said he is saved and is not looking for intimacy.
Simple Boy said he began working as a security guard while still living with his brother.
In an interview with Diana B on her Cook and Reveal segment, the Freshi Barida hitmaker said when the company closed he had to look for an alternative job.
“So I had to look for a new job because I had to move out of my brother’s place since he had just married. So I took up a job in Kibera as a waiter and things were hard since I couldn’t even afford rent,” he said.
He then started his music career and released his song Miharadati which he says was based on the many friends he lost due to drugs.
“I was always going for overnight prayers and all Sunday services because I did not want to do drugs like I saw my friends do. When my song Miharadati hit, I cried because it was a bittersweet moment. It made me believe there’s a God in heaven who saw how diligent I was in serving Him and how I loved my life,” he added.
According to Simple Boy, now he’s maintaining a pure lifestyle and added that he gets messages from women who want to date him.
“The challenge is most of them are not honest. Some are even married women,” he said.
When asked how he deals with the cold weather or instances he wants to quench body thirsts, he said:
“I usually pray to God for strength and avoid having such thoughts.”
Simple Boys says he’s single and searching
Simple Boy said he’s looking for a specific kind of woman, one who is loyal and simple like him.
The budding artiste said he wants a ‘kienyeji’ woman as Nairobi women are like ‘probox’ to him, meaning they are only problems.
The young musician added that he wants a woman who will love him for him and not because he is a celebrity or has money.
