The Salaries and Remuneration Commission (SRC) has increased salaries for those who would secure the seats on August 9, which is good news for candidates in this year’s election.
Senior government employees are also covered by the new generous salary, which reportedly goes into effect right away according to a Gazette notification in our hands.
The next president will receive an increase of Ksh227,560 under the updated package announced by SRC today, while the Deputy President would receive Ksh190, 875, Cabinet Secretaries Ksh169, 900, and Inspector General of Police Ksh156,075 instead.
The next president’s monthly salary will be Ksh 1,443,750, while his deputy will take home Ksh 1,227,188.
Members of County Assemblies will receive Ksh144,375, while Cabinet Secretaries, the Attorney General, and the the Cabinet secretaries would receive Ksh924,000.
