SportPesa unveils the new 38 million jackpot winner
Nyandarua County Executive Committee Member (CECM) nominee in charge of Lands, Physical Planning, and Urbanization John Ndung’u Muiru has been unveiled as this year’s Sportpesa Mid Week Jackpot winner.
Muiru, who won the KSh 38,792,902 jackpot on Thursday, October 27, presented himself at the Sportpesa offices today, Saturday, October 29, after attending an hour-long vetting at the Nyandarua county assembly on Friday, October 28.

SportPesa CEO Ronald Karauri confirmed the news saying:
“Yes, it is true he is our Mid Week Jackpot winner,” said the Kasarani Member of Parliament.
SportPesa Marketing Communications manager Lola Okulo said the company presented Muiru with his cheque today after he failed to show up on Friday due to the vetting.
“Yes, I can confirm that he is a CEC nominee in Nyandarua county. In fact, that is the reason why he didn’t make it to the Sportpesa offices on Friday because he was attending the interview for the position,” said Lola.
Muiru, a fan of SportPesa jackpots, said he was eyeing the SportPesa Mega Jackpot, which currently stands at KSh 258,230,739.
“It is all God because I have not been in employment since my retrenchment when COVID-19 struck. Life has been hard since then, but today, I am really happy. In the last two weeks, good things have been happening in my life, and it’s like a dream,” said an elated Muiru.
A fan of Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia and Manchester City in the English Premier League, Muiru hopes that his favorite team in the World Cup, Brazil, will carry the day at the end of the tournament that will kick off on November 20, 2022, in Doha, Qatar.
Muiru also plans to give some back to a good cause by supporting a seminary student for studies.
The giant game betting firm also announced that following Muiru’s win, the Mid Week Jackpot resets to KSh 10 million, which will keep rising each week until another person wins.
