Police in Eldoret are investigating a tragic accident that claimed the life of Rodney Kili, son of prominent farmer George Kili.
Rodney was crushed by a planter while calibrating the machinery on their highly mechanized farm.
Uasin Gishu County police commander, Benjamin Mwanthi, confirmed the incident, stating that Rodney slipped and fell under the moving planter, suffering fatal injuries.
“It was reported that the machine crushed him and he died soon after because of the resultant injuries,” said Mwanthi.
The Kili family, renowned for their large-scale maize and wheat farming on over 5,000 acres, has been left devastated by the sudden loss of their ambitious and hardworking son.
His body was taken to a morgue in Eldoret for further processing.
