While the country is marking five years after former IEBC ICT manager, Chris Msando, was murdered, little information is known about his lover, a 21-year-old college student, who was killed alongside him.
Caroline Ngumbo’s body was found alongside Msando in a thicket in Kiambu on July 31st , 2017, a day after they both went missing.
Her sister, Jedidah, has, for the first time since her death, come out to reveal details about her relationship with Msando.
Speaking to NTV, Jedidah claimed that she knew about the secret relationship between Caroline and Msando. She said that Caroline and Msando had been lovebirds for one year before they met their gruesome deaths, contrary to the rumors that Msando was Caroline’s “sponsor.”
She went on to disclose further details to show how the relationship was intimate.
She revealed that Msando would travel all the way to Naivasha, where Caroline lived, to pick her up and bring her Nairobi to have a good time.
“When she was staying in Naivasha, they would even call me with Chris (Msando). We were in Naivasha together and Chris would come to pick her and bring her to Nairobi,” said Jedidah.
On whether she knew details about the fateful day that Caroline and Msando went missing, Jedidah disclosed that Msando called Caroline and asked her to go somewhere and wait for him as he had meetings.
“Caroline told me that Chris had a meeting. And when Chris left the meeting, he called her and told her he had another meeting and so she should go somewhere and wait for her,” she explained.
The most shocking part is that Caroline and Jedidah’s mother did not know about the affair between Caroline and Msando. She told NTV that she only learned of the affair after they were murdered.
“I even wondered where they met,” she said sadly.
She proceeded to complain that her family was yet to receive justice over her daughter’s death. She accused the government of neglecting Caroline’s death because she was a normal citizen.
“They were all human beings,” said Mama Caroline, “They should not have investigated the death of one and left the other.”
Msando and Caroline were reportedly missing on July 28, 2017 and were found dead the following day.
The ones responsible for their deaths are yet to be identified as the investigations are ongoing.
