Artist Bahati Kioko revealed that he had to let go of two girls he adopted with Morgan nearly 10 years ago, after finding it difficult to continue living with them in the same house. He chose to stay with Morgan Bahati.
“When I adopted Morgan as my son, I also took in two girls, Rose and Purity. They were very young at the time, and honestly, I was quite young myself. I had just started my music career and was still hustling to make a living. Legally, I hadn’t yet reached the age where I was allowed to adopt children, especially girls,” Bahati explained.
“But it reached a point where I had to make one of the hardest decisions in my life, and it hurt me deeply. I felt I was in a difficult situation because I wasn’t legally protected to live with girls. Even though I wanted to stay with them, there was no way I could continue living with those two girls in the same house.”
“It was tough for me because they didn’t have a family; their mother was unwell, so I made the hard decision to stay with Morgan and return the two girls to the orphanage,” he added.
However, Bahati revealed that years later, he was overjoyed to reunite with the girls in an emotional gathering.
“Since that time, I’ve been supporting them where I can, paying their school fees here and there, but we’ve never come together to really catch up on how they are doing. And today, Purity and Rose have visited us, and I know they have gone through very tough times,” Bahati said as he went to welcome the girls into his home.
