Blogger Simon Muthiora unearths ‘Murder Weapon’ used to kill Jeff Mwathi
Jeff Mwathi’s death would have gone unnoticed were it not for the activism pushed by Simon Mwangi Muthiora, a social media personality.
The 23-year-old met his tragic end on February 22 under unclear circumstances, but his was going to be a forgotten case as he was laid to rest on Friday, March 3; it was claimed that he had the intent to fatally harm himself when he jumped to his death from the tenth floor of a residential apartment in Kasarani area.
But to change the above narrative would be Muthiora, who unpacked the mystery around the demise of the budding interior designer who was excited to begin his career.
Yesterday, fresh DCI investigations confirmed that Jell was killed, refuting suicide claims by DJ Fatxo. The question now remains – who killed him and why?
As we wait for the second phase of investigations by the DCI, blogger Mwangi Muthiora has now revealed the murder weapon allegedly used to end Jeff’s life.
Sharing on his official Facebook page, said a pillow was used to suffocate Jeff to death.
On March 6, three days after Mwathi’s interment, the blogger brought to the limelight the circumstances in which the young man died.
At the centre of the saga is DJ Fatxo in whose house Mwathi spent his last moments.
Born Lawrence Njuguna, Fatxo is a popular singer of Mugithi, a common music genre among the Kikuyu community.
Whilst it was believed he with intent jumped to his death, Muthiora’s writings suggested the youngster was killed.
At first, the blogger’s postings had been treated as mere postulation and propaganda until a vernacular TV station carried out its brief investigative piece, bringing forth the initially unthought details of the death.
As days went by, Muthiora’s claims morphed into some ‘truth’ as the Interior Cabinet Secretary ultimately ordered a thorough probe to be conducted by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI).
