Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection, Alfred Mutua, has announced a recruitment drive by a Saudi Arabian HR team seeking to hire 500 Kenyan househelps.
Unlike housemaids, nannies focus exclusively on childcare, including nurturing, feeding, supervising homework, and teaching English.
The tax-free salary ranges from Ksh 41,000 to Ksh 52,000 monthly, with visa and travel costs covered by the employer.
Candidates need to pay a medical fee of Ksh 13,500. Interviews are set for December 6 at Nairobi National Polytechnic.

Concerns Raised Over Kenyan Workers Abroad
Despite the appealing terms, the move comes amid grievances reported by Kenyans working in Saudi Arabia, including mistreatment, withheld wages, and unsafe working conditions.
Some workers have faced abuse and neglect, raising concerns about the welfare of migrant workers.
Mutua reassured applicants that stringent measures would be in place to ensure their safety and welfare, urging prospective nannies to report any mistreatment to relevant Kenyan embassies abroad.
