Safaricom switches on Ahmednasir Abdullahi’s Sim Card after online outburst
Earlier today, Flamboyant city lawyer Ahmednasir Abdullahi cried foul after telecommunication giant Safaricom switched off his Sim Card line.
This came as the deadline for the registration of sim cards ended at midnight on Saturday, October 15, after it was extended for a fourth time in April this year.
“After two and half decades of being a loyal customer of @SafaricomCare, they unceremoniously switched off my line this Sunday. Tomorrow I will move to one of the competitors and will never use their service again,” he said in a tweet.
However, few hours later, the lawyer can now smile after Safaricom switched on his line.
He said in an update: “Glad that @Safaricom_Care restored my line…that was the sensible thing to do…and my office kesho will do the needful.”

With the grace period now ending, many Kenyans who did not register their cards may not be able to use them, and one such victim is Ahmednasir, going by his social media post.
The senior counsel took to his Twitter to lament, saying Safaricom had switched off his sim card despite being the company’s customer for over two decades.
