Ruto promises to provide free internet services to all schools
On Thursday, Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate William Ruto unveiled his Education Charter full of proposals aimed at improving the quality of education sector if he wins the presidency.
Among the promises, Ruto said he will provide free internet services to all schools in Kenya, If Kenya Kwanza coalition forms the next government.
“We will provide free internet services to all schools in Kenya, as agreed by Kenya Kwanza,” Ruto said.
While speaking during Kenya Kwanza Education charter, the DP also asked ODM leader Raila Odinga to name some of his classmates or even lecturers to prove his academic qualifications.
Ruto said, on his part, that he had enough evidence to prove he went to school.
While speaking to Education stakeholders on Thursday, he said he can mention several of his classmates and lecturers.
“I even have my former principal at Chiromo Raphael Munavo and my PhD supervisor Professor Nkanya,” Ruto said.
Ruto and the Kenya Kwanza team had previously questioned Azimio presidential candidate Raila Odinga’s education qualifications.
Ruto said nobody knows any of Raila’s classmates.
“We will deal with people who no one knows where they went to school or what courses they pursued,” he said.
The Kenya Kwanza presidential candidate said if elected, he will deal with policy change to deal with fake degrees.
He said they will ensure all qualifications can be proved.
“Sorting our education the way we want it will remove the grey areas,” he said.
