Ruto promises to complete all pending projects started by Uhuru

President-elect William Ruto has pledged to finish all of the initiatives started by departing President Uhuru Kenyatta.

Ruto, whose election as president is the subject of a current Supreme Court appeal, said it will be his prerogative to see that the work begun by the departing Jubilee administration is completed since it was intended to serve residents.

At a meeting with representatives of the Kenya Kwanza Alliance from Kisii and Nyamira counties yesterday at his official residence in Karen, Nairobi, Ruto said the practice of newly elected leaders ignoring ongoing projects has resulted in needless resource waste.

“One assurance to Kenyans is that if there are any national government projects already in progress, irrespective of which part of the country they are located, they will be completed under my watch as your next President,” said Ruto.

He claimed that over the previous five years, he had traveled to every region of the nation, gained an understanding of the problems that people confront, and as a result, had developed economic forums to identify the needs.

Ruto promised that no one would be mistreated, despite the fact that he claimed some powerful individuals had been harassing him and his followers for the previous five years after he lost the support of the former president.

He declared that under his leadership, Kenyans will be brought together and uplifted in order to meet their fundamental necessities and set the nation on the correct course to assuming its proper position.

“I know some people who mistreated us are worried over their fate. Let me assure Kenyans that my government will not be vindictive towards anyone but will ensure the observance of rule of law by every citizen,” said Ruto.
