Former Sauti Sol frontman Bien-Aimé Baraza isn’t just touring the U.S.—he’s turning his concerts into electrifying, politically charged experiences.
Currently on his cheekily named “Alusa Why Are You Topless?” tour (yes, that’s the real name), Bien made headlines after leading a bold chant during his Washington, D.C. show on May 14:
“Ruto must go!”
The now-viral moment shows Bien mid-performance, full of energy, as he rallies the crowd to chant along. Phones shot up in the air, fans screamed, and the venue practically exploded with cheers and laughter.
While some were surprised by the political turn, others were totally here for it.
“Now we will support Bien. I want to buy his album. How can I buy his album?” one fan commented.
“Nimetoka YouTube kuwatch ngoma zake zote,” another added.
Bien’s daring move has sparked both praise and debate online. But if there’s one thing the man knows how to do, it’s command attention—whether on stage, in a tweet, or with a mic in hand.
Bien’s U.S. tour, which kicked off on May 14 and runs through May 26, will cover eight states, including major cities like New York, Boston, Chicago, and Dallas. His Boston show, set for May 17, is already sold out, according to his social media.
He’s proving that even without Sauti Sol, he’s still a full stage on his own.
The chant “Ruto Must Go” isn’t just for theatrics. It harks back to the 2024 Kenyan protests, a dark chapter that left over 60 dead and hundreds injured during widespread demonstrations against the current administration.
By weaving political commentary into his performances, Bien isn’t just singing—he’s stirring a conversation.
So whether you’re in it for the music, the message, or the meme-worthy tour name, one thing is clear:
Bien is not playing it safe—he’s playing it loud, raw, and real.
