On Thursday, August 4, during a speech in his Karen office, Ruto asserted that some journalists for Kameme FM and Inooro TV were openly inciting voters as the nation prepares for elections.

Additionally, he charged George Kinoti, the head of the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, with spreading a lie that would result in anarchy in the nation.

The Rift Valley Regional Commissioner, Maalim Mohammed, Trans Nzoia County Commissioner, Samson Ojwang, Uasin Gishu’s Stephen Kihara, and Esustus Mbui of Nakuru were all nominated by Ruto, who is running to succeed his employer, President Uhuru Kenyatta.

“They are part of this scheme. They are the people holding night meetings to orchestrate and plan conflict among Kenyans and unfortunately, the President of Kenya is aware,” Ruto said.

The Deputy President alleged that administrators and law enforcement officials had been threatened with termination if they failed to support Raila Odinga of Azimio la Umoja.

Additionally, he said Uhuru was conspiring against him and threatening authorities in charge.

“We are concerned about meetings which are being done in dark places to orchestrate what is not good for Kenya. The President met people in Nakuru and what is emerging from those meetings is the leaflets you see.”
