Businessman Christopher John Kirubi, died last year leaving behind a multibillion-dollar empire that included real estate, media, agricultural, and manufacturing, among other things.
Despite their father’s larger-than-life public character, the billionaire’s two children maintained a secluded life, albeit his daughter Anne Musangi Kirubi became increasingly visible after she took over the family business as his health deteriorated.
In 2019, DJ CK stated that his only son, Robert Kirubi, had declined to work for the family business in favor of pursuing a career in Europe, where he is employed by a global corporation.
“My daughter is here in Kenya is [sic] the MD of my factory, Haco Industries. My son is in Brussels, he works for DHL. I think they pay him so much money he refused to work for me but its good he has also accumulated a lot of experience,” the wealthy businessman stated in the interview.
For the past ten years, Robert Kirubi has worked for DHL, a package delivery business.
He assumed the role as Head of Global Customer Programs in 2019. After serving as a Vice President of Operations and in Client Support Services, he was promoted to this post. He works as a manager for a corporation with 380,000 workers and operations in 220 countries.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Northeastern University.
The current president of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, and media celebrity Jeff Koinange were among his classmates at Hillcrest School and afterwards at St Mary’s High School, where he was a student.
“He travels a lot. I see myself in my son,” In a previous interview, Chris commented.
On June 9, Robert will be celebrating his 56th birthday.
Maryanne is an intelligent worker, Chris said, and he admires how she has managed the family enterprises.
His younger brother, Prof Michael Kirubi, who teaches at the United States International University (USIU), and MaryAnne’s husband, Andrew Mukite Musangi, a Nairobi lawyer who represented Chris on delicate legal concerns, are also important members of the Kirubi family.
