Raila Odinga, the Azimio presidential contender, vowed to alleviate the Ukambani region’s chronic water scarcity yesterday.
Mr Odinga conducted rallies in Mtito Andei town, Machinery, Kibwezi town, Nunguni, and Kikima market in Mbooni constituency, escorted by Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, two Ukambani governors-Kivutha Kibwana (Makueni) and Charity Ngilu (Kitui) and other leaders.
Mr Odinga said his government will prioritize programs to ensure Kenyans have enough water for household consumption and agriculture if the coalition wins the election.
“I understand better the problems of this region. It is our number one item to tackle when we win. We will ensure we have enough dams, and percolate water along rivers that always goes to waste into the Indian Ocean.”
