Prince Indah, a well-known musician and performer in the Luo community, is currently grieving the loss of his staff and three fans due to a tragic accident in Kisii.
The incident occurred when a speeding lorry driver lost control and collided with parked vehicles outside a club where Prince Indah was scheduled to perform.
The musician himself has confirmed the unfortunate event, revealing that four individuals lost their lives, while several others suffered serious injuries.
“My sincere condolences go to the family of departed souls among them being 3 of my known fans and 1 of Malaika Musicals’ staff, job identification as security,” he said.
The musician said that other band members who got severe injuries are now in stable condition and out of danger.
According to him, his lorry driver who carries the sound system sustained a cut on the head, one of his security detail had a cut on his head and his saxophonist sustained a deep cut in his mouth.
He, however, said that the planned show which was scheduled for Saturday evening in Siaya will go on as expected.
He rallied residents to come out in large numbers as the show was meant to raise money to pay the bills for the ones admitted to the hospital.
“In the meantime, today’s show in Siaya will just go on as was scheduled to cushion the bills in various hospitals around Kisii following the tragic incident,” he said in a statement on Instagram.
“We are appealing to our fans from Siaya and its environs to come out in large numbers and attend the show. Feel welcome.”
