Officers of the Presidential Escort Unit who were hurt in a car accident are currently being treated at Nairobi hospital, Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has revealed after paying them a visit.
The DP reported on Tuesday, September 20, that the cops had made remarkable strides toward recovery.
Gachagua declared that following a series of tests, the cops would be released in a few days.
He withheld information about the accident’s location and the number of PEU officers who were hurt.
“Took time to visit officers of the presidential escort admitted in hospital after a road accident. I’m happy they have made substantial progress and the doctors assured me of their discharge in the next few days. We celebrate our police officers for their patriotism and commitment,” he noted.
Both Rigathi and Ruto utilize the PEU officers’ services in accordance with the Constitution.
The National Police Service Act of 2011 states that while 200 personnel are linked to President William Ruto, 45 presidential escort officers are allocated to the vice president.
