President Ruto Departs for Ghana to Attend John Mahama’s Inauguration

President William Ruto departed for Accra, Ghana, on Tuesday afternoon to attend the inauguration ceremony of Ghana’s President-Elect, John Dramani Mahama.

The visit follows a special invitation extended by Mahama during his trip to Kenya on December 29, 2024.

During his visit, President Ruto is expected to engage in discussions with various Heads of State and Government, including President-Elect Mahama.

These talks will focus on enhancing cooperation in critical areas such as trade, energy, oil, textiles, agriculture, and diplomatic relations.

Another key focus of the visit will be Kenya’s gratitude to Ghana for supporting Hon. Raila Odinga’s candidacy for the position of African Union Commission (AUC) chairperson. President Ruto will continue advocating for Odinga, emphasizing his pan-African vision and track record of leadership.
