Self-styled President of Comedy in Africa is constantly seeking out new ways to push the frontiers of comedy, and if that includes dressing in “juala” (plastic paper bags) for laughs and clicks, then so be it.
The comedian is traveling to Uganda to appear at the Africa Laughs show, and while there, he has put on a show in his plastic “juala” costume.
Some of the responses on his social media networks are listed below:
@DanielEmaasit: Sasa Uganda amekua dust bin ya polythyne.
@Delexx_Rayner: Umeenda kutupa uchafu Uganda,niice
@dj_delav_ke: Bro now they’ll say men are literally Trash
The comedian has always been vocal about his desire for Kenyan celebs to engage in more showbiz and not rely on talent alone.
He believes that their audiences, more often than not, are hungry for as much razzle-dazzle as possible from their favourite acts.
“SHOWBUSINESS – As the name suggests, the Business of Show-ing mostly Entertainment or the Arts. It is mostly a show of Wit, Glamour, and Extraordinary creativity.”
He went on:
“In a layman’s language ni kukua EXTRAordinary in Arts, Key Word here is EXTRA!!! My PROBLEM with our Musicians unlike Nigerians and Tanzanians they lack the “EXTRA”.
He continued:
“SO YES I consider Clout Chasing part of Entertainment and Creativity so long as it doesn’t hurt anyone and is meant to push an Entertainment Agenda which in the End reflects Business.”
Not too long ago, the man was under scrutiny for cross-dressing and doing a full face beat for his YouTube show.
It is important to note that in some countries, cross-dressing is highly accepted and doesn’t raise any alarm.
However in Kenya, male celebrities who cross-dress receive a societal backlash for going overboard and not acting ‘manly enough.
Undeniably, Eric does put money where his mouth is in this regard, always topic his outlandish acts one after the other.
