Pastor Ezekiel Odero has announced the launch of a new branch of his New Life church in Kitengela, Kajiado county.
The church, according to Ezekiel, would serve Nairobi citizens.
Odero told the reporters at the Jacaranda grounds, where he is having a crusade, that they had bought a 51-acre land on which to build the church, which will open in August.
He refused to discuss his present problems with the authorities, stating that he loves Kenya and that the objective of this mission is to win souls for Christ.
Odero was accompanied by his attorneys, Danstan Omari and Cliff Ombeta.
Omari has encouraged the presidential task group and any other government agency to come to Mavueni and participate in the crusades.
He said Odero has nothing to hide, and that they should visit his church to see what he does.
The pastor is being investigated for among other things, money laundering and radicalization of his members.
He is out on bail as police complete their investigations in the meantime he is supposed to report to the police once a month.
The announcement on the new church comes a few days after Pastor Ezekiel opened a new branch in Mosocho, Kisii county as he expands his wings for evangelism.
Ezekiel said owners of the land agreed to merge and sell the big parcel to the church.
“This is an area that is densely populated and you don’t expect it to be that easy to get a piece of land. We are still in the process of doing the transfers but we have already paid and we thank God for our peace-loving people,” Odero told reporters.
