The family of Ambrose Rachier, a lawyer in Nairobi, has denied allegations that they have been forced into seclusion as a result of his admission that he is a member of the Freemasons society.
In the aforementioned interview, journalist Andrew Khaemba aimed to get the chairman of the Gor Mahia organization to tell the whole truth.
Rachier described the Freemasons as a members-only organization in which those who are members invite people they know well to join.
“Our main objective is to engage in charity to help humanity, but, in the process, we ensure that our intellectual faculties are all the time interrogated and we also have something that you can call companionship or fellowship through dinners and so forth,” he said.
The accomplished lawyer underpinned that he is not afraid to say openly that he is a members, neither does he regret the decision.
As a matter of fact, his family members are aware that after work her carries his attire and heads for the meeting.
Rachier’s elder brother John told Daily Nation that he has known that his sibling was a member of the Freemason all along, therefore, was not caught by surprise.
He reiterated that his family members have no problem with his choice of religion because he has his own life to live, however, he did not expect him to put it out on national television.
“My brother has been a member of that society for close to three decades. I think people should just mind their business,” he stated.
Contrary to the brother, Rachier’s cousin Abwao Nyandera pointed out that he, just like every other Kenyan, learned about the lawyer’s religion on TV.
His niece Lillian also heard about it on TV, but she explained that his being a member of the Freemasons had not affected their relationship.
Residents of Gem Ahono in Gem sub-county where Mr Rachier hails from maintained that, as much as he tried to sanitise the movement, they are not convinced by his sentiments.
They admitted that they were not only shocked by the revelations but, going forward, they will also struggle to relate with him like they have done in the past.
When the Gor Mahia chairman let the cat out of the box about his membership in the freemason secret group, the internet went into a frenzy.
