Kapseret MP Oscar Sudi has announced he will be taking a sabbatical from public engagements due to allegations of his involvement in activities like harambees.
“Going forward, I’ll not participate in any Harambee because it has been used to malign and disparage the good course, let it be banned,” he said.
“Thus the current happenings in the country call for introspection and consequently, I’m taking a sabbatical leave from public engagements.”
In a video, he said he was deliberating about quitting politics, saying he is doing much more in politics than what he is doing for himself.
Sudi said he will be on sabbatical leave for a year or two, after which he will make a decision.
This comes shortly after the MP announced the suspension of all his development activities in response to the violence that broke out in Eldoret affecting public and private properties.
While making the announcement, he said he has always believed in helping and supporting the needy in society.
Among the affected properties is his newly launched Eldoret club.
Timber XO, the multi-million club, owned by the MP in Eldoret town was vandalised and looted by the protesters during the demonstrations.
Some of them were seen making away with liquor worth thousands of shillings.
