Citizen TV has disclosed the timetable for Olive Burrows as she commences her official responsibilities at the station owned by Royal Media.
Having been recruited from NTV, Burrows will take over the position previously held by Victoria Rubadiri, who has now joined the international news organization CNN.
Burrows will assume the role of overseeing Citizen Weekend and Sunday Live news bulletins, which were previously anchored by Rubadiri.
As announced by Citizen TV, the former NTV news anchor will commence her duties on June 1st.
Few weeks ago, Olive Burrows announced her departure from Nation Media Group after a year stint at the Kimathi Street-based TV station.
Burrows said that her exit is not a goodbye, but more of a see you later.
“This is not goodbye, it is see you later. You guys have been working to see me cry today, I will wait for it to start raining (laughs) then I’ll blame it on the sound,” she said after watching colleagues give their goodbye messages.”
Burrows said working at NTV over the last six years has been a pleasure.
She went on to say that the station took a chance on her, and the chance has paid off in many aspects of her life, including solid friendships.
She added that she will always remain friends with her colleagues even as she leaves the next phase of her career.
“I love you guys. It has been an absolute privilege working here at the Nation Media Group for the last six years.
“They took a chance on me, and it has paid off, not just careerwise but also the friendships, and we remain comrades in arms because this craft we are in together for the greater good of Kenyans,” Burrows said.
Before joining NTV, she worked as a news anchor at Capital FM.
Rubadiri had been anchoring the weekend news alongside veteran Jeff Koinange.
