Kalonzo Musyoka, the head of the Wiper Party, has revealed specifics of their current talks with President Uhuru Kenyatta, including the prospect of a working agreement between the One Kenya Alliance (OKA) and the Jubilee Party.
On Thursday, February 17, when speaking in Kisii County, where OKA had a series of political engagements, Kalonzo confirmed that OKA had approached the Head of State, and that the dialogue was prompted by the need to create the next administration following the August 9 elections.
The former Vice President added that OKA approached Jubilee because the two political parties share similar political ideals and that his team was prepared to provide Kenyans with alternative leadership.
Kalonzo, who was accompanied by other OKA leaders, including KANU Party head Gideon Moi, revealed that the President is not focused on his retirement, but rather on strengthening his ruling Jubilee Party.
“I have made it clear that we are talking to President Uhuru Kenyatta. You may be thinking he is going away but he is busy strengthening Jubilee,” he stated.
He also hinted at collaborating with Raila Odinga, the leader of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM). They have a working connection with the former Prime Minister, according to Kalonzo, which will make it easier for them to achieve an agreement ahead of the election.
